Chief Financial officer
(Construction / Real ESTTAE)
THE PERSON:
Must be a member of ICASL, membership of CIMA will be an added advantage.
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
10+ years in a similar role. (Construction industry preferred.)
Prior exposure to group company environments and audit processes will be a strong advantage.
Strong analytical skills, leadership capability, and proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting & working capital management.
Good analytical and organizational skills are a pre-requisite.
Excellent verbal and writing skills in English.
A mature individual possessing an entrepreneurial flair would add substantial value to the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Overseeing all accounting, financial reporting and treasury management activities of the Group.
Coordinating and assisting in finalizing annual business plans for approval of the Board of Directors.
Introduction and implementation of strategic financial and operational management information systems, effective treasury management, internal controls and budgetary controls, profit and cash forecasts, taxation and tax planning.
Optimizing the effective use of working capital, ensuring effective financial planning and fund management systems.
Review the financial viability of all significant capital investment proposals within the Group and alignment with Group strategy.
Keeping abreast of changes in the statute (particularly with regard to taxation and company law), regulations pertaining to accounting standards and directives issued from time to time by statutory bodies such as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) and the Sri Lanka Customs.
Liaising with financial institutions, auditors, Department of Inland Revenue and other external institutions. Disseminating information to senior management, accountants and finance executives through periodic discussions, meetings and reviews in order to facilitate effective financial and working capital management.
