EXECUTIVE TRANSPORT SOURCING
Job Description
Procurement & Sourcing:
Identify, evaluate, and select transport service providers based on service capability, cost, reliability, and coverage.
Lead tendering, RFQs, and contract negotiations to secure new transport new business
Maintain a strong supplier pipeline to ensure capacity for fluctuating business needs.
Analyze transport spend and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
Monitor carrier performance (OTIF, Safety and quality related incidents, service level adherence) and implement corrective actions as needed.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure all transport service providers meet legal and regulatory requirements (licensing, insurance, permits, driver qualifications).
Monitor and enforce adherence to company policies, safety standards, and contractual obligations.
Conduct regular audits and compliance checks on vehicle fitness
Maintain and manage documentation related to compliance (contracts, certificates, audit reports).
Coordinate with legal and internal audit teams to address risk areas in transport operations.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Conduct supplier meetings and continuously keep them informed about safety and process adherence.
Work closely with operations, and customer service teams to align procurement with service expectations.
Act as the point of contact for escalation of transport-related compliance issues.
Build strong relationships with key vendors and ensure transparency and accountability.
Qualification
Minimum 3 years’ experience in Transport sourcing in an inventory management environment.
Passed GCE A/L and certificate course in Supply Chain Management.
Working Knowledge in MARK/SAP/JDE, Accounting.
A well organized, methodical hardworking individual with good communication skills.
Ability to handle pressure and deliver on time.
Ability to work with Ms Office Packages.
